Part 1
Part 2
Lately, there’s been a lot of building work going on around Dancing Rabbit, including everything from the continuing progress on Ironweed’s cob/straw bale hybrid kitchen, to the frame construction of the Milkweed Mercantile, and to Dan’s urbanite foundation construction for his soon-to-be straw bale house.
So for this episode of Dancing Rabbit TV, we’re taking the opportunity to provide a “how-to” natural building lesson, an in-depth video about earthen plastering techniques and application. Tamar guides us through every step of the way, showing how easy it is to make natural plaster from just a few simple ingredients (there might be one somewhat surprising ingredient in there, too!), and both making and mixing the plaster, and then applying it to a natural home wall. Anyone who might have some curiosity or interest in learning more about natural home building, or specifically earthen plastering is encouraged to take a look!
You can also download a high quality Quicktime version of this video (62MB).

Thank you for this wonderful instructional video. It’s great to know that one can build a home in a way that is good for the earth AND good for their body. No air pollution, sound pollution, or dangerous body mechanics required. And you get to dance as part of the process. Hooray.
Dance and sculpt your way to luxurious living!
Thanks for the Cool Video. I enjoyed it very much and can’t wait for more.
Great video, thanks!
Fantastic job! This is exactly what I was hoping for in your videos, were not able to get out to see you all just yet but its videos like this that put the knowledge behind our will. Thank you again and please keep up the great work, we look forward to more!
That was great. I’ve been trying to find walk-through videos of natural building techniques and that’s the best one I’ve seen so far.
Keep them coming!
Wow, I remember when you guys went and collected cow manure and had the time of your lives! Who would have thought? Keep up the great movies!
This was really great! Thanks so much for doing this for us to see! I feel like I understand it a lot better now. How does this mixture compare with what you would need to use to actually build the walls of a dwelling?
